CLIENT	CBDC Atlantic Community Business Development Corporations (CBDC) Ferryland, Newfoundland and Labrador
PROJECT	Organize first championship bicycle race in Newfoundland's Avalon Penninsula as a business development project indirectly funded by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
CHALLENGE	Managing project stakeholders (organizers, consultants, competitors) that are spread out across the province as well as Ontario and Quebec. Plan a first time event that has no precedence and in an environment that has unpredictable variables and logistics. Work with limited funding and planning resources.
SOLUTION	Establish communication channels centered around the event Web site and on-line practices to facilitate efficient information exchange and collaboration. Develop on-line processes for all planning activities to minimize cost and increase efficiency. Implement fundraising and public relations programs to engage the participation of local communities.
